HDCM, Shri Chowna Mein graced the valedictory function of weeklong training program under Pilot Initiative for Honey Cluster for Beekeeper of Namsai District, jointly organised by Departments of Sericulture, Horticulture and Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and supported by District Administration Namsai and National Bee Board, New Delhi today at Town Club Namsai.

Calling the function an enlightening experience HDCM stated, “Bee keeping is a specialised subject and training on the same is a requisite”. Encouraging the role it can play in empowering women he advocated for provision of fool proof package to be provided to beneficiaries to ensure full potential of Honey production for which he ensured financial assistance.

DC, Namsai stated, “in order to attain the vision of making Namsai the Honey district of the state, synergy from all department concerned and enthusiasm in the part of trainees is vital”. He further informed that beneficiaries will be provided with 1300 bee boxes by KVIC and other chunk to be born by district authority for which he sought financial assistance.

Taleng Tadeng, Development Officer Sericulture informed that Namsai district is conducive for Honeybee culture. He ensured market potential and availability of Govt. processing unit at Sille to ease post harvest activities.

Resource persons and trainees shared their experiences of the training and how it has enlightened their knowledge on bee rearing. The participants affirmed to work in unison to achieve the goal of making Namsai the honey district.

Certificate of training were handed out to the trainees. All HODs and officers of department concerned were present.
